Lulu & her awesome mommy Alex are my #wcw!!! Lulu's mom saved her when she took her away from a breeder - and then had her spayed, saving Lulu from being a mama dog but also saving who knows how many litters of puppies (and their puppies, and their puppies, you get it). We felt so lucky to be able to meet you during our short trip to Nashville and cannot wait to see you both in the new year- we love you!!!!! Thank you for everything that you do!

This awesome human is Ryan with his best friend Tonka & their story is everything. ❤️ @ryanspauldingr32 ❤️ "My name is Ryan and I served 4 years in the Marine Corps. On October 27, 2011 I was on my way home from base in southern California. I was stopped at a red light on my motorcycle and when the light turned green I started to go through when I was struck by a guy running a red light in his SUV at 55mph. I was immediately air lifted to the hospital Scripps La Jolla Trauma Center where I spent 5 days in the ICU and two weeks total. I broke my pelvis, both clavicles, two fingers, five ribs, both my lungs collapsed, I had a severe TBI and I had multiple surgeries. I was then moved to Scripps Encinitas Recovery Center where I spent almost another two weeks. I spent a total of three months in a wheelchair and almost a year in rehab and to this day still receive help with other issues I have to deal with. I have since then been medically retired from the Marine Corps. I've struggled day in day out with the problems I now have from my traumatic brain injury. I suffer from Anxiety, depression, short term memory loss, severe night terrors, and PTSD. I reached an incredibly low point in my life where I no longer wanted to be here. Doctors couldn't help me and I had no where else to turn. I lived alone and had no one to turn to. My Dr. then suggested maybe I should get a pet. I thought it was a great idea and I figured I should adopt and help save a life. I found Nashua, NH humaine society and went there to find a dog. I found Tonka and I knew he was the one! From the day I brought this dog home he has been the most loving and loyal dog I could have ever imagined. He raised my spirits 1000 percent just seeing how happy he was whenever I'd come home everyday. I have since started going to college and things have really turned around. I wake up from my night terrors and he's always by my side and has the power to calm me down fast. I might have saved this dog from the shelter but really this dog saved me. I couldn't have ever found a better best friend." Thanks for sharing this with us Ryan, and letting us share it with everyone else. Much love ❤️🐶❤️ #thisisapitbull
Today our awesome new friend Erica gave us a tour at Metro Animal Care & Control (5125 Harding Pl, Nashville, TN 37211) and we saw BRODY! Differently-abled pitbulls or boston terriers, and senior beagles are my WEAKNESS- and 8 year old Brody is just perfect. I just love him, and you should go adopt him! Also if you live in Nashville please check out this facility and volunteer/foster/adopt!
I have butterflies in my stomach because my notification page is blowing up with folks sharing #Dereksstory. I want to see every share and thank you all, but I can't keep up- so many shares! Can we all maybe do #derekturns18 - seems like the easiest way to see them all! This is just everything, thank you @cameobua for getting us involved in something so beautiful!
