Pardon today’s double post. 10/25 is a big day. 9 years ago tonight - this big boy came home from the OKC animal shelter. The hundreds of miles we’ve run together since don’t begin to tell the story of our journey. I definitely found the right pup.
35 years ago today a 60 foot fall at work resulted in injuries that should have been fatal. 3 months in the hospital and countless surgeries gave him a chance at life. His grit and determination made it pay off. He returned to (and eventually retired from) the same job. He outlived many of the doctors who made life possible for him. And, most importantly, he continued to be a great husband and father to his family. All while dealing with constant discomfort and the frustration of not being able to do all the things he used to do. Truly a hero.
