First, thank you for making it this far! Maybe you have bought a ticket to one of my dance performances? Maybe you follow my photography on Instagram? Maybe you have subscribed to my blog? Maybe we are meeting for the first time? To be an artist and to have anyone listen or pay attention to what I am doing is an amazing gift! I appreciate you very much! It’s been over a year now that I’ve been on Patreon and I have ended up in a different place from where I started. One of the things I’ve really loved is the interaction I am able to have with Patrons, or what I like to call “Treytrons”.. The overwhelming response to this site has been as a platform for my photography of the human body. There are so many other ways to interact with my other work, but Patreon is the main hub for accessing my photographic work that is not available anywhere else. One of the most consistent questions I get from people (i.e.Treytrons, models and dancers) is, “Why do I photograph naked people?”. I really love this question. I think a lot about my reasoning for doing anything in this life because I want to make sure I am contributing to the world and not just repeating something because I may do well at it. In choreography, the technique and theory behind the artistry of dance is about making sense of the human body. Our bodies are a tool that we are blessed with to act, to transport, to eat, to have sex, to dance: It is not only utilitarian, but metaphoric. Nudity, for me, is the ultimate symbol for standing exposed in one’s own self: literally and figuratively naked and being seen. There are some built-in contradictions in how dance treats this metaphor, not the least of which is built into the tradition of covering skin with stretchy fabrics that I suppose are meant to suggest nudity without being nude: I suppose the reason is to titillate while avoiding “vulgarity”. However, this has the complicated effect of purporting to celebrate the human body while simultaneously hiding it. This message is woven into so many aspects of society. I have had the privilege of seeing and playing out the metaphor of the body in beautiful and revolutionary ways. In my own work as a photographer, providing a safe context and environment for someone to explore and be photographed nude for the first time, or to do the same with someone who has had a difficult relationship with their body...these moments are so rare and moving!... providing a profound subtext. For the subject, this experience can be starkly transformative. For the viewer, my hope is to pay forward this experience.. Patreon has become the ideal vechicle for me to achieve this. People often tell me that they enjoy my work because it’s not sexual, but I will defend to the bitter end that it is indeed sexual. It is joyous, mysterious, sad, complex, wholesome, disturbing, peaceful, thought provoking, and yes, sexual. Just like life is all of those things. Why should we exclude one very primary part of life from the discussion? What the work is not, is exploitative. It is not empty and gratuitous and without meaning. I want to discover something, always ;and, I will be brave in helping guide the human body out of shame. I really hope that you will come along with me on this journey and become a Treytron. You will have access to all the latest posts from the past 2 weeks.  $15 - THE GLIDER - Here we go stepping off into new territory: an all new benefit! Still images are wonderful, but sometimes you need to see bodies in motion. In addition to the previous benefits, you will receive a gif of the month. I will collaborate with a model to create an original moving image available only on Patreon! Also, you will have expanded access to the archive and see all posts from the last month.  $25 - THE COLLECTOR - (limited to 40) Here we go stepping off into new territory: an all new benefit! At the Collector level you will receive all of the benefits listed at the previous level PLUS I will send you one-of-a-kind postcards from the places I travel to for photoshoots and for making choreography. Strange, thrift-store finds and handmade collages chronicling my adventures in a communique made just for you. AND, you have access to the entire catalog of images. It's gotten to be quite the collection! $50 - THE HERALD - I am creating a series of merit badges for everyone I interact with. Treytrons receive a unique merit badge; dancers get one that represents the ballet they are in; models have their own badge. Subscribers at THE HERALD level for 12 consecutive months and you will receive, in addition to the previous benefits, the entire patch collection for that year. This is something I have never done before. $1000 - THE VANGUARD - (limited to 10) I am so excited to share with you that this year I am moving into creating large scale, medium-format images for galleries. Patrons who remain at the Vanguard level for 12 months receive all of the previous benefits PLUS one of my very first, single edition, large scale prints. These images will be sold for a much higher retail price, but I am offering this to my Patreon supporters as a thank you for making the printing of the photos possible! Your photo will be from an edition of one so no one else will have the same print. $7500 - THE CONFIDANTE - (limited to 3) The secret to my photography lies about 10% in technical skill and 90% in how I craft a shoot and work with people. I am famously private about my process and have never opened up what I do to anyone. Treytrons who subscribe for 12 months at THE CONFIDANTE level will spend two days with me in NY and be a part of the work that I do.
