My name is Shanley Spence or "Wapan Kisikawi Pisim Iskwew / Early Morning Sun Woman" and this year I will be running the full Manitoba Marithon in Honour of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and their families. 

How can you get involved?

1) MAKE A DONATION HERE!
Help in supporting our families of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. 100% of the funds raised will go directly to the families. It will help them with necessary supplies such as banners, posters, t-shirts, candles, memorial/funeral costs, etc. It will support them in finding/honouring/remembering  their loved one,  amplifying their voices and stories and bringing community together. 

2) RUN WITH ME! 
Sisters, join me in your ribbon skirts for any length of the marathon, register and let me know that you will be running at shanleymary_92(at)hotmail(dot)com Indigenous or Non-Indigneous allies are welcome to run with me as well! 

3) CREATE A TOBACCO TIE FOR A LOVED ONE
I will be attaching tobacco ties made from families and friends for loved ones which will be worn throughout the entire run. If you'd like to add a tie to my skirt please contact me ASAP

4) SOLIDARITY 
If there is a marathon in your hometown, run for the same cause, pray for our women, girls, their families and our communities. Create and wear your own tobacco ties, etc.
