I'm an artist (kind of) and some other stuff (mostly).

What this means, I suppose, is that I have a lot of questions as a human being, and the urge to answer them as an artist, with the help of people I meet along the way.
Does art need to be seen in a museum, a gallery, an art space? What are other ideal places for art? What does it mean to create, install, document and take down a specific work of art, outside of an institutional context? And so, here is the pressing question: Where does art need to be seen? Nowhere in particular?
This is an experiment to take my site-specific approach to art to a different level, by subjecting my works to a continuous rhythm of installations and de‐installations that reflects the ebb and flow of a time and place.

nowhereinparticular is a long-term project that took its first step in Osnabrück, Germany, at the BartnikProjectRoom and at the StadtGalerie Cafe. Every piece I installed was the result of the conversations, meetings and encounters I had during my stay. I am interested in venues beyond the art institutions, so I would try to get into homes, shops and public spaces with my installations. In each case, I explained my practice, directions and needs, and sought out people open to collaboration. I had nothing with me but basic tools like a drill, a hammer, pliers. Everything else came from the interactions. I prefer to empower people and borrow their objects — even if only for a few hours or minutes — to set up my installation, which then remains for as long as months or is as short-lived as half-an-hour. In this way, I experiment with ways of relating to communities and locations that are totally different from the ones I’ve experienced until now.
By involving the art and non-art public, the concept of authorship is challenged. By making art in situations both improvised and scheduled, and in both art and non-art places, each piece underlined dynamics particular to a time-space, and told a unique story.

nowhereinparticular is a journey within a journey that I would now like to explore even further (with your help, because being on the road is a hard life).
Practically, that means:
Every 1 euro you give = Fuel (metaphorical) for every 1 kilometre I pledge to undertake
With the money, nowhereinparticular will make its way around Europe (and perhaps further afield?) in one rickety car containing one artist and two dogs — one incredibly stoic about her life with an artist, the other exasperatingly enthusiastic and adept at melting hearts with her puppy eyes, but I digress. With your help, I hope to spend one-third of the money on a small caravan we can sleep, live and work in, saving on the need for terrible and terribly unaffordable motel rooms. This will also allow me the flexibility of working anywhere.
Artworks can and will be installed along the way in any place deemed intriguing. This entire process will be documented (by yours truly) through photos, videos and illustrations. These will ultimately result in a body of collage works, catalogues and postcards, etc— some of which can be yours.
