I purchased a slab of Metallic Purple a several months ago, just starting to make a backspacer for a knife and I am having trouble getting a nice polished finish. I am finding micro voids everywhere, this is unlike any other carbon products I have purchased from you. What can I do about this. I've gone consecutive from a 220 grit up to 4,000, every time I get close to sanding out a micro void another appears and under a strong magnifying glass I can see tiny fibers/slivers on the edges. Thank you for your time. Jeff Taylor, taylorflooringpdx@gmail.com
Hello, Due to the machining and processing sometimes it may appear as if there are microvoids or other imperfections. This is because the resin and the fabrics process differently and then look differently also, appearing like what you have. I will respond in email more detailedly, helping you forward to prevent this problem.
