Andres Barrioquinto in London

For the first time ever, Filipino artist Andres Barrioquinto will be having his solo exhibition, titled “It Will All End in Tears”, in START Art Fair, held in the Saatchi Gallery, London. Brought to London by Singapore-based art gallery One East Asia, Andres will be showing 9 of his most recent works, created for this art fair.

I had the opportunity to be able to view 3 of his works before they were shipped off to London in Singapore. His works are so detailed, even down to the tiniest feature in the eyes of the woman in the work. Each work takes months to paint, till Andres himself is satisfied with the message an emotion each work tells.

Describing himself as an individualist than a realist, Andres Barrioquinto paints images that expresses and represents his inner thoughts and feelings. Each of his work has a specific story behind it, hence, actually owning this work- means that you own a story of another persons’ life. Personally, I feel that during the current times where many artists create works for survival, Andres is one of the few who creates works for himself and not for the money.

Just to give ya’ll a sneak peak, here are two of his works that I have seen personally, and I find them stunning!
