Saving Baby Floyd

I figured this was worth a shot... If you know me, then you probably know (or at least of) Floyd. He’s my 5 year old cat and very best friend on this earth. He recently suffered a urinary obstruction (basically a blocked urinary tract that didn’t allow him to pee). I live alone and work majority of the time, so by the time i realized he was in pain it was pretty severe. I rushed him to the vet as soon as i could, but it was already pretty bad. While the doctors were treating him his heart / breathing stopped, so they had to resuscitate him. This caused a lot of neurological problems (he lost his vision, motor skills, wasn’t able to eat, stand, he essentially suffered a stroke). The doctors wanted me to put him down, but I couldn’t give up just yet. He was admitted on Thursday (7/18) and is still there. Over the last few days, Floyd has made significant improvements. The hospital staff was very impressed and didn’t expect him to improve as much as he has. He can now eat from a syringe, hold his body weight up, has some reflexes, i visit him everyday and he meows so much when i come to see him which is a HUGE deal, he’s given me little kisses, and his urinary tract is unblocked. We are just waiting for him to regain more of his motor skills and be his self again... once he recovers from that, he still needs 2 more surgeries. (Aka additional costs). Most people would say I’m in denial for keeping him alive this long, but if you know how much my boy means to me you would understand... We have such a unique bond. He’s such a unique cat. People who HATE cats love Floyd, he’s so different .... he’s a human. Also he’s a dog. He loves music, treats, and cuddling with his momma (me) and i really need my boy home as soon as possible. He’s gotten me thru everything in life.. He’s making such miraculous improvements everyday, the only thing that makes me nervous is the bills. :( 

Out of the $4,034 total, I’ve paid $1,650 but to be honest I’ve exhausted my resources.. The veterinarian I’ve been coming to for years was gracious enough to let me pay off the remaining balance in payments but even those payments are steep ($350 every 2 weeks or $700/month). Not to mention the surgery he needs to remove his bladder stones and an additional surgery on his lil penis once he’s stable enough for it. I pay all my rent/bills by myself, work full time, and have living expenses (transportation, food, my other cat April)... and you guys, i just really need help with this. I know that it may not seem like the most important thing in the world but Floyd is my child. My love for him is endless. If the only thing standing in the way of him living or dying is money and i wasn’t able to give him that chance i would never forgive myself. My pride is nonexistent at this point so please donate anything you can or share this post. Even if it doesn’t result in a single dollar being raised, i would just appreciate positive thoughts and love. Send Floyd love. It’s really hard to watch my boy suffer. I’ve asked for signs from the universe and I’ve gotten them, so many miracles have happened (too many to put in this post) assuring me that Floyd will make it. He is THAT cat, I know he’ll be okay. It’s only a matter of time and patience.. I’m just reaching out to my community for a little help with the financial burden. I don’t know the price of the additional surgeries yet but since the vet is working with me payment wise, just helping to pay off this remaining balance + a deposit on the surgery would be blessing enough.


i will never forget this and am grateful af in advance for anything you are willing to part with. Prayers up for baby Floyd. I’ve had him since i was 18 years old and we’ve been inseparable ever since. I did all my real growing up with Floyd by my side, he’s been there for me through everything... I have so much more to accomplish in life and I can’t imagine him not there with me for that ride... i would be a shell of a human being without him. PLEASE help me. God bless.
