A couple weeks ago, Officer Michael Rivers of the Goldsboro Police Department came upon a woman on the side of the road. She wore a shirt that read, “Homeless. The fastest way of becoming a nobody.“ Rivers rolled down his window and said hello and then left, but he couldn’t stop thinking about her. “I turned around and I asked her, ‘Hey, did you eat today?’ And she said, 'No,’” he later told CNN.
