Grazie per essere qui. 

Come molti di voi, anche io sono scioccato dal crescente cinismo, dall’indifferenza verso chi ha bisogno, dalla criminalizzazione di chi aiuta. E non riconoscendomi in tutto questo, ho deciso di oppormi e di agire, di investire qualcosa di mio per contribuire ad una società in cui gli ultimi non siano nemici, in cui l’aiuto non sia una colpa, in cui la generosità, la partecipazione e il soccorso tornino ad essere valori fondamentali. 

E così ho deciso di partire di nuovo. Userò quasi tutti i miei giorni di vacanza, pagherò i miei voli, il cibo e l’alloggio, ma questa volta non andrò in nessun luogo esotico.

Farò volontariato al campo rifugiati di Katsikas, nel nord ovest della Grecia, con Refugee Support Europe, una No Profit piccola e dinamica che distribuisce cibo, vestiti e fondi per lo sviluppo di attività all’interno del campo. In questo modo RSE ambisce a restituire ai rifugiati un po’ della loro dignità. Perchè la dignità conta! Per continuare a fare questo incredibile lavoro, RSE ed io abbiamo bisogno del tuo supporto.

Tutto questo è infatti possibile unicamente grazie alla TUA donazione, e a quella di persone come te. Tramite RSE la tua donazione servirà a pagare quel che più serve (cibo!). E verrà impiegata molto presto.

Thank you for being here.

As many amongst you, I’m appalled by the growing cynicism, the indifference towards those in need, the criminalization of those who help. And since I don’t belong in all of this, I decided to stand up and take action by investing myself in order to contribute to a society where the ones left behind are not enemies, where help is not a sin, where generosity, participation and aid are fundamental values.

So, I decided to leave once again. I’m using most of my days-off, paying for my flights, food and accommodation, but I’ll not fly to any exotic destination.

I’ll be soon volunteering at the Katsikas refugee camp, north-west of Greece, with Refugee Support Europe (RSE), a small and dynamic charity organization that distributes food, much needed clothing and businesses loans. By doing this, RSE aims at giving refugees a little of their dignity back. Because dignity matters for all human beings! To keep doing this amazing work, RSE and I need your support. 

All of this is possible thanks to YOUR donations, and those from people like you. Through RSE all of your donation pays for what is most needed (food!). And it gets there quickly.
