Welcome to my Creative World

I am obsessed with the creative process and love getting my hands dirty, working with different materials and basically trying it all. I love the smell of paint, the feeling of a brush in my hands and getting completely immersed in my art. I am highly sentimental and I hope it comes through in my work. I love fresh color, bold shapes and painterly brushwork. My biggest inspiration comes from the natural world, human emotion and from curiosity; if I wonder…”what if…?”; I follow that question which leads me on a creative quest. This question has lead me to so many beautiful people, places and ideas that I explore through through my work.

We have moved!

Earlier this year my husband and I decided to move out of Los Angeles to the beach town of Carlsbad, CA where we live along a beautiful lagoon. This lagoon has inspired so many paintings over the years and is an endless source of inspiration. For now I am spending my days simply enjoying my time living “on” the water and observing everything. To me, painting is a matter of both seeing and feeling so I want some time to simply take it all in and pay attention to the little changes that occur daily. I plan on making lots of large lagoon paintings very soon but for now you can find me on a kayak or paddle board among the egrets and pelicans! I can’t wait to see how this “new life” will be infused into my paintings.

New little florals!

During this transition, I have found that working small allows me to feel free and accomplished while keeping my creative juices flowing. I have been referring to these little gouache/collage paintings as “SEEDS” since they have been giving me so much joy and ideas for larger work. I do plan to release these new works at some point but for now, it feels good to see them all around the house. I have added bits of patterned papers into the paintings which adds a playfulness that I am loving. If you would like advance notice on when they will become available please join my mailing list!
