Basquiat Show: King Pleasure
West Side Highway NYC

13th April Apr 1

New Horizon
Doug Aitken
Crane Estate, Ipswich, MA

Sunday night was an amazing art exhibition. The rain cleared and the sun came out. A true happening at a stunning site in MA.

The crane estate looks like an estate straight out of France with hills that roll from the front of the castle to the ocean. Doug Aitken paired moody, enthralling musicians with the otherworldly reflective hot air balloon with sychronized led lights running up and down it’s spines.

Nothing else like it. Doug said that he wanted everyone to be present and let things happen when they happen. The night was magical.

Tony Smith
Tau, Source, Throwback

Pace Gallery NYC

Monumental sculptures by Tony Smith at Pace in NYC. The forms change depending on the angle you view them, but somehow maintain the feel of the whole sculpture. Big Show to check out through July 26, 2019

Beyond The Streets
Robert Gastman, Dabs Myla, Katsu Bot, TWIST, Bill Bariminsky, Cleon Peterson, Maya Huyuk, Shepard Fairy, RIME and the history of Graffiti Art

Amazing show that is a bigger and better version of the show staged in LA last year. Robert Gastman created a well curated show of graffiti artists from then to now. I love it all!. This is a show for the ages. Check it out in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NYC through August 25, 2019

Jonas Wood
Gagosian Gallery 24th Street

Great show of meticulous flat type art. It’s simultaneously flat and deep, which draws you into his world and stirs your imagination. There is a real steady, architectural experience that you feel like you can step inside it. Check it out through July 19, 2019

Timothy Curtis Show
Albertz Benda Gallery

Great. Big. Show. Timothy filled the space with perfectly wall measured pieces that screamed with his red faces. So many great people came out to see the work. It’s the first time I’ve seen a show of his work. Such a singular voice and a great show. Check it out through July 26, 2019.

Claudette Schreuders

In the Bedroom

Great show at Jack Shainman Gallery on 20th Street in NYC. The wooden sculptures are slightly cartoonish, though warm and approachable. Since the sculptures are small, it’s like having an omniscient view of the characters and their interior world, in the bedroom. Check it out through June 22, 2019
