We Went For the Donuts….And $4.50 Martinis….And Topgolf

What AN AMAZING weekend we had! Portland is a quick 2-1/2 to 3 hour drive (no traffic) that gives you such a different culture, no sales tax shopping and AMAZING food and drinks that equals to an memorable adult weekend.

Tony and I, along with our good friend’s Shelly and Diego, ditch our kiddos with grandma and grandpa, got into Tony’s car and embarked towards Portland, Oregon, home of the Timbers (boooo) and Topgolf!

Here is where we ate and drank…and ate…and drank (Since I consistently eat clean, whole foods, I got heart burn right away from my first meal and cocktail! Let me just say, Tums are AMAZING!!!):

1.       Deschute’s Brewery: A Portland staple that holds all sorts of beers and delicious food!

2.       Bartini: Be sure to get there before 4 to line up at the door! Happy hour is between 4-6:30 pm with $4.50 martinis!!! This amazing spot makes up over 100 delicious cocktails/martinis and you CANNOT beat a $4 HH price!! The rounds kept going for Tony and Diego!

3.       Topgolf food: While you are having fun golfing away at Topgolf, you can snack on their array of burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, drinks, and they have an awesome brunch too!

4. Voodoo Donuts: You obviously cannot visit Portland without going to Voodoo donuts and yes, it is worth the hype! Be prepared to wait in line on a weekend for about 45-1 hour....but the donuts are fresh and cheap and HUGE!

Topgolf!!!! Tony and I have first discovered Topgolf when we visited Arizona. You will find that Topgolf mainly resides in warmer states such as Arizona, Vegas, Texas, and Florida, so you can imagine our excitement when we found out there is one located in Hillsboro, Oregon, just 20 minutes south west of Portland.

You guys, you MUST MUST MUST go to Hillsboro and try this out! It is perfect for late night outing with friends and PERFECT for family outings (Donovan has played in Arizona and LOVED IT)! Here are a few things you should know about Topgolf:

1.       Think of bowling combined with darts combined with a golf driving range. Every person gets a turn to swing and you keep score on a tv screen just like bowling. The driving range field is full of different “bulls eyes” or targets that you aim for (darts).

2.        You can reserve a “bay” for about $50 an hour for up to 6 people. Great pricing for 6 people! If you have more than 6 people, you will need to reserve 2 bays.

3.       It is a really REALLY good idea to reserve a bay in the evening and ESPECIALLY on the weekends. You can reserve 7 days before you plan to play and you can do it online!

4.       Realistically, I can last about 2 rounds (20 turns per person, per round) because my upper middle shoulders begin to get sore from all of that swinging!

5.       You don’t have to be an expert golfer to play! Tony is really REALLY good at it since golfing is his hobby sport. I, however, am lucky if I hit the ball!

6.       It is a GREAT family outing! Our next Topgolf adventure while we are in Arizona in April!

It is SO SO fun when you are able to experience fun times with your family and friends and Topgolf should be one of them! BRING TOPGOLF TO SEATTLE!

Have a great week guys!

XOXO
Tiff
