For years I'd been yearning to kick my hair up a notch, but could never find a salon in the area. Especially one that could work with my thick Asian hair to give me the results that I want.
Enter MG Hair Artistic. Ray is truly next level--he is knowledgeable, attentive, and has vision. His salon is the ONLY one I trust with coloring my hair.
I've had friends who would jump from salon to salon trying to cut corners in an effort to "save" but they always end up unsatisfied and thus, make multiple trips back to "fix" their hair. Ray and his team, however, are incredibly skilled and will get your hair right the first time around. Bring a few inspo photos, sit back, and get ready for your glow-up!

Hey Renee!
Wow your hair looks AMAZING!! Thank you so much for trusting us as well as leaving us a great review! We love the pictures you shared and we hope to see you again soon!
"Quincy's really turning around" is all I hear from my boyfriend whenever we pop into the burgeoning restaurants of Quincy Center. Specializing in sheet pizzas, this place offers a nice mix of classics like the margherita to fancy toppings like the Fig-prosciutto-arugula for the refined tongue. I don't typically eat crust, but I made an exception because this place got everything right.
A sheet pizza will run you about $22, but it's 100% worth it. You can request a sheet pizza to be half and half if you can't decide on one flavor!
We had the burrata appetizer and I'm just speechless over how perfect that starter was to a great meal. The pesto and microgreens had really fresh spring flavor for their focaccia. Might need to make another visit soon as they change up their menu frequently.
Lastly, each table is given the tastiest plate of warm homemade bread for oil dipping. Seriously, I could just devour loaves of their bread for hours on end.
On every occasion I've been, I always manage to get a mouthful of shell when having oysters. Every.single.time. So whoever is shucking their oysters is either 1. Inattentive 2. Not trained properly. Don't know which I'd prefer.
I ordered the Duck ravioli appetizer and the special for the night which was Prosciutto-wrapped Rabbit tenderloin with polenta. I am a sucker for polenta, so imagine my surprise when the entrée was served with au gratin. Potatoes are fine, it just isn't the rich savory cornmeal I was expecting so I mentioned this to our waitress who exclaimed that Marliave hasn't "had polenta on the menu in a while," but that she'd agree to check the menu. Lo and behold, the menu advertised polenta with rabbit!
I believe Marliave's reputation precedes itself, and should consider updating their interior and their menu because nothing feels fresh here.
This place deserves more love. I've had the jajangmeon here, and while I wasn't impressed with that particular dish, I think their other dishes like the naengmyun are decent! Cold mustard/vinegared broth served with chewy noodles and pickled veggies on hot summer day? Say no more!
There's ample dining space and I don't ever find that there is a wait to be seated. On the downside, their service is hit or miss...but they're just a bunch of kids so it's understandable that they'd wanna chat with each other lol. If you're looking for something hearty, their sundubu really shines as the flavor of the stew is full-bodied and their portions for protein are generous. I recently had their kimchi-beef tofu stew and man, I'm itching to go back.
Attentive staff who are eager to please-they refilled our Banchan without our asking!! I'm a fan of their kimchi as it isn't overly spicy or sour and their Kalbi is tender and well-seasoned. I think their sundubu jigae could use more flavor. It's not as robust as other places in Allston, but this place is solid for Quincy! And man, do they really pack in the tofu. I ordered the beef tofu stew but had to comb over my bowl for bits of beef.
If I had any recommendations to make for SGD, it would be to up the flavor and protein and pull back on the amount of tofu given. I'll be back for more!
