Back to School Program

Talogtog, the village I grew up in, will be conducting a "Back to School" program that aims to provide 250 children with care packages that will contain both school and food supplies for the upcoming school year. The community of Talogtog faces challenges such as poor living conditions and food shortages. It is our goal to alleviate some of the stress that comes with the financial burden on families by providing essential supplies for these children.
We are asking for your help in achieving our goal by receiving donations here in the United States. Every single penny raised will be funneled to SK (Sangguniang Kabataan), also known as the Youth Council of Barangay Talogtog, Philippines, where these school packs will be assembled and delivered. SK advocates in empowering and strengthening the children of its community.
Our team has been actively raising money through other means such as fundraising events and recycling, but we need your help to make our efforts to go further.
We hope to raise $600. Even a small amount helps the team deliver school supplies and food for these children and their families. You may be surprised to know that same $10 can help provide lunch for 15 children in my hometown who regularly face hunger.
Each school kit will contain: Notebooks, pads of paper, eraser, sharpener, box of crayons, envelopes, glue, scissors, pen, pencils, ruler, and eco-bags.
Grocery items will contain: Noodles, juice and milk packets, canned goods, and snacks.
While even the smallest donation will help, we do understand if you are unable to and we ask that you instead help us in spreading the word to your friends and family.
Your generosity can truly make a difference in making these kids' lives less stressful in entering this new school year. We appreciate your interest in helping improve the educational possibilities for these children.
