This fundriser is about making sure these two dogs have a fair shot at a life they deserve.
Carrie Cools found Lucy and Ducky when their original owners evicted them and left them all alone in their abandonded house. What she didn't know when rescuing these two dogs, what a tremendous journey they would take her on.
To everyone's surprise Lucy was pregnant, and that meant 4 new little babies would be entered into Carrie's life. That was 6 dogs that she did not have the means to raise alone, but didn't have the heart to abandon.
For weeks she took care of all 6 dogs until she could find them the perfect, loving homes they all deserved.
Two of the puppies went to my boyfriend and I, two went to a lovely woman who lives in Long Beach, and the last two she couldn't bare to part with, Big Boy and Shaggy
Puppies are expensive, and where Carrie lives they are not treated entirely well. Most are unneutered and sick, and not in the best condition.
She decided to end her lease early and move to a place with a big back yard and a safe home to make sure theses dogs had the life they deserve.
And then Big Boy contracted Parvo.
The doctors gave her a $900.00 bill and a 50/50 chance for Big Boys survivoral.
She and my boyfriend, and a few other amazing people have donated to help her pay the remainder of the bill she could seeing as she was moving. There were still the expensives from having to replace all the toys, carpet cleaning, and bedding that may have been infected.
After days of fear and hospitliazation, Big Boy came home and was looking brighter.
Then Shaggy started showing symptoms.
This is where we are today, with two puppies one fragile from recovery and one on the brink of sickness. There is only so much she can do until she moves to her new home this Saturday. Then, in a controlled environment
and better neighborhood they can FINALLY have the life they deserve.
On Facebook she said she needed a miracle. These dogs have brought her joy in a time of financial, emotional, and mental crisis. We all know how pets can heal us and become the one friend we need when life gets over whelming. These are more than dogs to her, they are friends, children, they are goofballs and trouble makers, they are cuddlee bugs and movie lovers, they are more than dogs, they are life savers.
Help us give them the life they deserve, get through this medical crisis and live long, happy, and healthy lives.
