Yesterday, as I began to get ready to photograph the Pride Parade in New York City, I asked myself who are the Faces of Pride?

With the tragedy in Orlando still fresh and raw and with the craziness of our Presidential election, I felt it was more important than ever to see all the faces of the LGBTQ community.

What I already knew, but was so evident yesterday is that we are a diverse community.

We are all ages, we are all ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds.

We are families. We are mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, and aunts and uncles.

We as a community have made so much progress in fighting for and achieving our rights.

However, we still have numerous things to achieve and numerous things to protect.

As I went through the photos yesterday, I saw the Faces of Pride and remembered how important it is that we all know each other.

So take a minute to look at these faces and remember we are a strong and diverse community and we need each other more now than ever.
