What is The Important Project!?
The Important Project is a global initiative that intersects art and journalism to promote diversity and inclusiveness while fighting discrimination. So in other words, it's a big/fuzzy/warm community that everyone is welcome to join, share their story with, and feel supported in.
Our ultimate goal is to spend a year travelling around the world to interview people about what's important to them and take their portraits. After this year of travels we will then publish a BEAUTIFUL photo book collecting the amazing and diverse humans found all over the world and their stories.
How do I become involved?
You can become involved simply by following along with our posts on social media. We have amassed an amazing and engaging global audience over the last year, and we would like you to become a part of that community as well! Follow on instagram or facebook to see everyday people featured sharing what's important to them. Who knows, you might even see apearences by people you know!
You can also become involved by being interviewed. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate! Send an email to [email redacted] to set up an interview. Everyone that's interviewed gets some free portraits too!
How can I help?
You can help by buying a book or two. I have designed two different books for our kickstarter campaign launching this June, but I couldn't wait that long to share them with you, so that's why I created this gofundme campaign. I want to share the work that I've done so far with you all to thank you for your continued engagement and support!
For the entire last year I have funded The Important Project all with my personal savings, and going into the Kickstarter campaign I need a little bit of financial help to ensure that the project is as successful as it can be. If you want to help, but don't have the means to buy a book, please do share this page with your friends and family. Every bit of exposure counts!
What will we see inside the books!?
I've designed two books for you all. Each one features 30 unique portraits and interviews of people I've met all across the Pacific Northwest. The first book I call the "Elegant Format" and features three lines of text that I found most inspiring from the interviews I conducted, while the "Elaborate Format" features 30 completely different interviews in their entirety. Each book comes in both paperback and harcover. See the cover of each book as well as some sample pages below!

Book ordering will work as follows:
$1-$29.99 contribution recieves my HUGE SLOBBERING THANKS!
$30 contribution awards one paperback of your choice
$40 contribution awards one hardcover of your choice
$50 contribution awards BOTH paperback books
$69 contribution awards BOTH hardcover books

Be sure to leave your email, book choice if applicable, and mailing address in the notes section so I'm able to get your book(s) to you! Please allow 3-5 weeks for delivery.
