Just a bummy happy to be back in the Sunny Diegyo 💃

“It’s nasty,” said my professor right before giving me an A on my final . . . More info down below if you’re interested! - - - A personal painting: This is a hardy 36x40” oil painting I made about my mom’s severe vertigo that she has been suffering from for over a year now. It has effected everything she does from our own family to work, to how she thinks and communicates. . . Goal: To give off the vibe of working through a state of insanity. . . . Process: I took inspiration from MRI scans to create a pieced up drawing of parts of the brain. . . I used layered oil paint on top of marble dust and cold wax to create texture. . . The bright red and yellow lines work to create movement through the composition and refer to an electrical current. They represent the part of my mom’s inner self fighting to stay vigilant through the mess and sadness inside of her head. . . . No black was used in this piece, but the deep purple tones work to create this sober feeling and atmosphere. . . .
