I actually love this photo @nietodickens took of @disssgrace and I, but there was a moment where I hesitated about posting it because of... things that fat girls think about all the time, the concept of what's "flattering" and what isn't. Over the past decade+, I've done a lot of unlearning about these notions and how to not just love my fatness but be proud of it and be proud of who I am as a queer fat femme. In spite of this, every now and then these insidious thoughts creep back in because at the end of the day, we live in a society that glorifies thin, white, cisgender, "able" bodies and insists on reminding us of that at every turn. Then I remembered that my body, my face, my double chin (and yours) are all fine and beautiful and worthy of love the way they are, so don't 👏🏼 forget 👏🏼 that 👏🏼

I don't think my followers know much about this, but I'm on the board of an incredible organization called the @3wavefund. Third Wave is the rare kind of philanthropic organization that takes $$ and directs it towards the grassroots orgs led by QTPOC, young folks, sex workers, etc. and trusts that they know how to use those funds to best lead a movement for gender justice. I started working at 3W in 2011 and it has been my home ever since. It's where I learned to embrace my identity as a fat femme, as a queer POC, and as a leader. At the core of 3W's beliefs is the notion that *we* are the leaders we are looking for. Since we all live in a capitalist, heteronormative, patriarchal society it took time for that message to sink in but here we are! We may have hit our #GiveOUTday goal, but (at the link in bio) I encourage you to give to 3W and put your $ towards building a movement we thought we could only dream of. 💕💕💕
